| Surface Tension acts as a platform to question and explore forms of spatial practice that engage locational complexity. Working as an international collective of artists, architects, and writers, Surface Tension results in collaborative projects and publications. Initially developed through the editing and production of a comprehensive anthology (Surface Tension: Problematics of Site) addressing the history and legacy of site-specific art practice, the project is based on examining what site-specific practice can be today, presupposing an inherent interdisciplinarity and aiming to galvanize multiple threads of interaction and reflection on what it means to engage the built environment. |
How
to translate Surface Tension to Portuguese? Superficie Tensão - two nouns in a roll is quite exquisite in portuguese, specially in this case. It would be almost like Surface/Tension (understand?) Tensão de Superfície - Tension of Surface (literally) Superfícies Tensionadas - in the plural it gets closer to the original effect, but would mean Tensioned Surfaces Tensões de Superficie - closer to the meaning, I think, but also transforming to Tensions of Surface, and weighing more to tension then to surface Tensão Superficial - this brings a nice play with the concept of physics, that also happens in english. but in this case, in portuguese, it resounds with the word superficial |
